PLEASE NOTE: Monday, February 15, is Registration Day. Department Heads are
reminded that a representative from each department must be on hand to answer questions
and help expedite the registration procedure.
AAUP MEETING: There will be a meeting of the AAUP in the Stetson Room at 12:00 noon
on Monday, February 15. Please obtain your lunch through the regular cafeteria line. A
summary of the Administration's annual report on faculty salaries will be presented, and
the matter of faculty consultation in the establishment of University budgetary priorities
will be discussed. The meeting is open to all faculty, including non-members of AAUP.
We are indeed delighted to welcome the Choir from Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary to the campus. The Choir will sing the anthem at the Worship Service on
Wednesday morning, and at the conclusion of the Service will remain to give a brief
concert. All who can are cordially invited to stay.
An article entitled "An Inconsistency in Brandt's Ethical Theory" by Dr. Robert W. Loftin
appeared in The Personalist, Vol. 51, No. 4, Autumn, 1970.
Our congratulations to Dean Etter Turner who was recently installed as president of the
Florida Association of Women Deans and Counselors.
Congratulations also to Mrs. Sara Jernigan who was recently named one of the recipients
of the 1971 American Association for Health, Physical Education, and Recreation
Recognition Awards. The Awards will be made at the time of the Annual Association
Convention which is scheduled to be held in Detroit on April 2.
Mrs. Jernigan also has an article in the Olympic Review, published by the International
Olympics Committee, entitled "The Preparation of Women Athletes for the Olympic Games,
