ANNOUNCEMENTS
Department Chairmen and other University staff members engaged in
professional and business travel should carefully keep in mind a significant cost change effective July 1, 1970. Stetson University together
with all educational, governmental and previously tax-exempt entities,
must now pay in full the new 8% air transportation tax. This cost
increase and rate adjustments allowed the carriers have occurred since
our budget was developed. Unfortunately, there cannot be compensating
supplemental increases to the travel budgets. May we request that you
carefully review your travel plans and make such adjustments as may be
necessary. We call your attention particularly to the University requirement that out-of-state automobile transportation be specifically justified
as less expensive than travel by common carrier, Such cost justifications
should now be updated.
