ALL UNIVERSITY EMPLOYEES
The University Academic calendar was set to hold classes on Friday,
July 3rd. To properly service the functions of the University for the
student customer (which is our reason for being here) makes it necessary
that all units of the University operate on that day. As a substitute, for
what otherwise would have been a holiday observance, the University will
close on Friday, August 14.
A similar academic schedule will prevail for the Labor Day week-end
and holiday, Monday, September 7. Again, classes will be in session. The
University will observe a substitute holiday for Labor Day on Friday, August
21.
Individual officers and departmental supervisors will be responsible
for determining the necessity of maintaining office hours on those Fridays
and arranging staggered personnel time to serve them. Particular advance
attention to job requirements will be appreciated since this will involve
operating two short weeks in sequence with only four workdays each.
