An exemption/waiver test in Natural Sciences (in lieu of G-lll) will be offered at 9:00 a.m.
January 5, 1970, in the Counseling Center. The fee is $25.00. Those interested must register
at the Counseling Center by December 19, 1969.
Preliminary class rolls for the winter term will be available Wednesday, December 17, They
may be picked up in the Registrar's Office at that time, or they will be in your post office box
January 5.
A number of incidents have been reported concerning students who have not attended classes
for a number of times and who have not been reported to the proper authorities. Will you
please check your rolls at least periodically and report any student who is not attending? It
is embarrassing'to the University when parents are seeking sons and daughters, presumably
on campus, who have not been in classes for at least a month or so. Please help us in this
endeavor.
The Stetson Credit Union will close its books for 1969 on Friday, December 19. Requests for
share withdrawals and loans must be processed immediately in order for checks to be prepared.
Mr. Marion Mathews has just been accepted by the University of Miami Medical School.
A national committee of Africanists from the African Studies Association will be meeting on the
Stetson campus December 12-14. This Committee on Teaching about Africa (COTA) will be
hosted by Harold Schultz and Gwendolen Carter, two of the members of the Committee. Their
last meeting was in Montreal in October.
The current (Fall, 1969) issue of the Journal of Church and State has a major article by
Dr. Harold Schultz entitled, "The Search for Utopia: The Russian Mennonite Emigration to
Canada, 1917-1927." Dr. Schultz also has a critique of Canada's leading social historian,
G. P. Glazebrook, in the August issue of The Historian:; A Journal of History.
