The faculty of Stetson University is cordially invited to attend a coffee in your honor on
Monday, November 10, in the Student Lounge directly following the Greek Sing which will
begin at 7:00 p.m.
For those faculty and staff who are planning on following the basketball team to the Gold Coast
Classic in West Palm Beach on December 29-30 , the Ramada Inn has made a special rate

Sigma Xi members and Associate members are requested to attend a meeting at 10:00 a.m.
Wednesday, November 12 in Room 221--Sage Hall. The purpose is to elect a President
and a Secretary for Stetson's new Sigma Xi Club, and to agree on a date for the formal
installation of the Club.
Jim Lea has scored again with his important byline review in the current Saturday Review,
October 25, analyzing and judging Julian Moynahan's new novel Pairing Off. Congratulations,
Jim ! !
Eleanor Leek, professor of Cello and Theory in the School of Music, has been invited to
speak at the Florida State Music Teachers Convention in Tampa on November 11 on the
"Contemporary Music Project Workshop" in which she was selected to participate last
summer at the Eastman School of Music. The project is sponsored by the Ford Foundation.
Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, recently awarded Miss Helen Pitsiou a teaching assistant-
ship to begin on December 1, 1969, in the field of Sociology. Miss Pitsiou graduated from
Stetson in August of 1969 with a major in Sociology. The stipend is $2700 plus tuition for a
normal academic year.
As per the traditions of Stetson's pre-medical students, we have learned of the early acceptance of Mr. Harry Evans by the University of Alabama Medical School, the University of
Florida Medical School, and Vanderbilt Medical School.
