DANGER ! ! ! Catalogue changes that don't reach Dr. Langford by Monday, October 20, won't
be included in the next catalogue. There are five firms bidding on the printing job; all have
been promised complete material adhering to a tight print, galley, page proof schedule to
insure delivery of the new catalogue on March 1, 1970 -- some two months earlier than has
been the case in the past. These printers face substantial penalty clauses if they do not deliver
proofs and the finished catalogue on time. We must get the material to them when promised,
or we run the risk of having to reprint the old catalogue for spring, 1970, use. If we reprint,
we lose the value of the catalogue as an effective public relations and advertising tool. Please
help. Get your changes in on time.
FACULTY ADVISERS FOR YEAR ABROAD PROGRAMS -- Faculty members are invited to
apply for the position of resident adviser in the AMFC Year Abroad Program in Madrid or
Neuchatel during the academic year 1970-71. Qualifications include a practical knowledge
of the appropriate language and availability for the academic year. Prior experience in a
foreign country is desirable, as the faculty resident must travel and work with students as well
as foreign landlords, banks, university officials and others. Anyone interested should send
a statement of his qualifications to the Office of the Deans of the College of Liberal Arts prior
to November 1.
The following students were absent from campus from 11:00 on, on October 10 to participate
in the Stetson Soccer Classic: Ted Davis, Frits Lawaetz, Jeff Aste, John Wethington, Ted
Williams, Bob Rosenberger, David Hull, Jim. Flint, Dan Fremont, Dave Bestor, Barry
Brassard, Ibrahim Gheiadi, Bob Baldwin, Tim Olagbemiro, Bill Perry, Harland Merriam,
Jorge Uquillas, John Davis, Kurt Hertle, Steve Baum, Bill Hinchliff, Bob DePue, Manuel
Menendez, John Horn, Pete Staley, Dave Brandt, Alex Mellon, Chan Chai Intaraprawat.
The same students were absent from campus from 12:00 on, on October 16 to participate in a
soccer game at Jacksonville University; and they will also be absent from campus on October 21
from 11:00 on to participate in a soccer game at St. Leo College.
The following students were absent from classes October 16-18 in order to participate in the
Auburn University Debate tournament: Sharon Beasley, Rachel Rajehel, Bruce Rose,
Al Dawson.
