All Faculty Members are cordially invited to attend the graduation ceremonies honoring
the May, 1969 candidates for the Juris Doctor Degree on Saturday, May 31, at 9:30 a. m.
at the College of Law. Please inform Dean Allen if you plan to attend, so that he may
inform Dean Dillon how many to expect.
There will be a dinner in honor of the graduate students June 1 at 5:00 p. m. in the
Garden Room. Members of the faculty and friends are cordially invited to attend.
Tony Jusick of our excellent Physics Department has a research grant for the coming
summer to work at the University of Florida with Dr. A. E. S. Green and his Aeronomy
Group.
T. A. Lick of the same distinguished department has a grant to spend the summer
back at Ohio University, continuing some very promising research that is growing out
of his dissertation at that school.
The Faculty Senate in a special session on May 19 elected its new officers for the
1969-70 year. The new officers are John Hague, Chairman; T.:W„Beiler, Vice Chairman;
J;V.'Adams, Secretary-Treasurer. Their term of office begins June 1.
The following economics majors are entering Ph. D. programs in economics this fall:
Russell Buchan (Woodrow Wilson Designate), Michigan State, with full tuition waiver
plus a $2800 assistantship; George Copp (Duke); Ted Wohlfarth (Florida State).
Steve West will be seeking an MBA at the Wharton School of Finance as will Albert
Cabral at Syracuse University. Chris Fear and Jon Mills will be in law at the University of Florida. Also, Bruce Kuhl has received a full tuition and subsistence fellowship
in the Stetson Graduate Division's Prospective Teacher Program leading to an M. A.
The Department has also been included in the double major programs of Millaine
Wooley (history-economics), who has a Stetson Prospective Teacher fellowship, and
Hal Cauvel (political science-economics), who has an assistantship in law at the
University of Florida. Finally, Ken Jones and Charles Meyer have completed economics
majors under a joint program of the Finance-Economics Department of the School of
