IMPORTANT NOTICE : As it has been traditional in the past, classes will terminate
at 12:00 on Friday, February 28, for Homecoming. Classes will resume, as regularly-
scheduled, Monday morning, March 3.
In order for students and faculty who have 9:00 a. m. classes to be able to attend the
Convocation scheduled for 10:00 a.m. , February 24, in Elizabeth Hall, classes will
be dismissed at 9:40. Mr. Kenneth Woodward, Religion Editor of Newsweek magazine
will be the guest speaker.
The January, 1969, issue of the American Journal of International Law contains an important article by Dr. Gary L. Maris in which he elucidates points of international law
concerning the U. S. position in Guantanamo as it relates to Cuban sovereignty over the
area.
Word has been received that Mr. J0hn McCabe of our Department of Mathematics
has been given a grant for the spring semester to work with Professor John Myhill
at the State University of New York in Buffalo. Our congratulations to John!
World Book Encyclopedias, 1969 issue, are now in the office of the Education Department and are available for use.
Dr. Elizabeth Magarian presented a paper entitled "Noetherian Tensor Products" at
the seventy-fifth Annual Meeting of the American Mathematical Society which was held
in New Orleans January 23-26, 1969.
There will be an open meeting of the Association for Computing Machinery on Tuesday,
February 18, 1969 at the Boars Head Meeting Room, Howard Johnson Motor Lodge
1-95 and U.S. 92, Daytona Beach, Florida. The speaker will be Mr. L. Perry Bone
of Systems Engineering Laboratories.
