There has been some concern as of late over the large number of Infirmary excuses being
given to students. In the past, housemothers dormitory directors, and resident advisers
have been able to phone the Infirmary if one of their residents was ill in the residence halls
and an excuse was issued by the Infirmary. This privilege has been somewhat overused.
The policy now concerning Infirmary excuses Ls as follows:
Infirmary excuses will only be given to those persons who physicallyreport
to the Infirmary for their illness. If a student is too ill to go to the Infirmary
his resident adviser or dorm director will notify the Dean of Men or Dean of
Women so that they might make arrangements to get him there.
