A class in English as a Foreign Language is available to all international students this
semester (8 a. m. Monday through Friday). International students who need help in
reading, speaking, or writing English should be directed to Mrs. Kathleen Johnson
in room 28 L to arrange to enter the class.
Faculty Schedule Cards are being put in all faculty boxes. Please fill out cards in
duplicate in return to this office immediately.
VOYAGE TO THE ENCHANTED ISLANDS: BY SQUARERIGGER TO THE GALAPAGOS,
is the title of a color slide program offered by Professor Richard Langford, Monday,
February 26, 1968, at 8:00 p. m. in the Stetson Room.
Faculty members are reminded that reservations for the Faculty Dinner on Saturday,
February 24, should be sent to Box 1387 ($2. 50 per plate, check to the University
Women's Club) by Wednesday, February 21, Don't forget this, as it is the occasion
of the long awaited and eagerly anticipated Sophomore Skit, allegedly this year a miracle
of dramatic ingenuity.
On February 22 a 8 p.m. in the Stetson Room, poet Edward Field will give a reading
from his vivacious books, one of which, Stand Up, Friend, With Me, won the 1963
Lamont Prize.
On Thursday, February 29, between 4 and 5 p. m. in the auditorium of the Business
School, Dr. Peter Vierick, Professor of History at the University of Pennsylvania
and widely acclaimed academic poet (a very nice contrast to Edward Field) will read
from his poetry. Both of these events are open to the public.
On Wednesday, February 21, the Student Affairs Committee will begin a series of open
discussions on the Statement of Rights and Freedoms of Students. These discussions
will be held in room 205 SUB and will begin at 4:00 p. m. every Wednesday for the next
