IF A STUDENT IS ABSENT from a final examination, a grade of »F" must be reported
unless permission to take a special examination has been obtained from the Dean of
the University.
AN INCOMPLETE GRADE may be given only if approved in advance by the Dean o f the
University. Such permissions, which will be granted only in exceptional cases,
must be obtained in writing from the Dean's Office not later than March llu

the statement concerning the Beneral Education core for the new catalogue. Please
re-examine the materials for your Department or Division in the light of this and
made necessary changes this week. Suggestions as to how to do this will be append
ed to the statement of the core. It is especially important to check all "pre-"
courses, (Deadline announcement on page 2).
