1500 FORMER STUDENTS ENJOY
HOMECOMING
JOINED BY 1000 GUESTS AT BAR-B-Q-DINNER
2500 former students and guests journied
from far and wide to enjoy the program arranged for them for Homecoming at Stetson on November 15 and 16. It was a record-breaking
affair and was indicative of what can be expected by those who return on that occasion in future years.
The program began on Friday night with
the Gamma Sigma Epsilon, chemistry fraternity
supper at the home of Dr. John Conn. The play,
"Noah," by Obey, was given at the Stover Theatre at 8:00 p. m,. As indicated by its name,
the play is a fantasy on the Biblical story of
Noah and the ark. The burden of the play rested on the capable shoulders of Allyn Thompson
of DeLand, who played the part of Noah. The
other parts were well played and the play was
well received. It was unique in presentation and
that alone was enough to thrill the former students to the heart.
The play was followed by a pep rally at Hul-
ley Field. A good crowd attended and the "old
grads" joined in with the students in yellling
for the team and singing the songs, both old
and new. Theta Alpha Phi, dramatic fraternity,
held its annual alumni banquet in the commons
at 10 p. m. Mrs. Marie Pedigo Walker of Lakeland, was the speaker of the evening and compared the plays of her time (1926) to those of
today. If we are to believe Mrs. Walker, and
subsequent speakers, Dr. Stover is still the same.
Lewis Tribble of Tallahassee, James Day of
Lakeland, and Charles Luckie of Jacksonville
related some of their experiences in the theatre,
much to the enjoyment of the others in attendance.
At 8:00 Saturday morning, Justice Elwyn
Thomas, LL.B. '15, of Tallahassee,, spoke at the
breakfast given by the Student Bar Association.
Murray Sams, LL.B. '10, was toastmaster of the
occasion and introduced the guests. The Student

NEW OFFICERS ELECTED
At its annual meeting on November 16, the
Alumni Association of John B Stetson University elected the following officers:
Philip E. Buck, LL.B. '23, DeLand, president;
J. P. Simmons, LL.B. '14, Miami, first vice-
president; James Nemec, B.S. '32, LL.F.. '36,
West Palm Beach, second vice-president; Ralph
Odum, LL.B. '39, Lakeland, third vice-president;
Hewen Lassetter, LL.B. '30, fourth vice-president ; Mrs. W. A. Pattishall, Acad. '17, Orlando,
fifth vice-president; J. M. Albritton, Jr., B.S.
'41, secretary; William H. Griffith, B.S. '40,
Lake Helen, treasurer.
Buck, a prominent attorney in DeLand and
Washington, D. C., is well known among the
former students of the school and holds great
promise of making his term of office one of the
most successful in the history of the Association.
Albritton will serve as secretary in addition to
his present duties as executive secretary of the
association.
