PAST AND PRESENT -- When Stetson's five Woodrow Wilson Fellows for 1967~-68
were announced on March 15, present at the ceremony to congratulate them were four
former Fellows who are now members of the Stetson faculty. Those shown are from

Jacki Manning; Mrs. Sherwood Tiffany, instructor of mathematics; Wilma Yates;

Wilson Fellowships Awarded . . .
Five outstanding Stetson University seniors,
all expressing a desire to teach on a college
level, have been named recipients of fellowships from the Woodrow Wilson National
Fellowship Foundation of Princeton, N. J.
Announcement of the 1967-68 winners, 1, 259
throughout the country, was made on March 15.
Stetson's winners were informed of their
selection at the traditional surprise coffee
given in their honor by University Dean,
William H. McEniry, Jr. , in the lounge of the
Union Building. Letters of Award were
presented by the Dean and Dr. Carter
Colwell, professor of English and Woodrow
Wilson campus representative.
This year's winners include: Richard
Knapp, American history major from Ft.
Lauderdale; Douglas Short, English major
from Daytona Beach; Jay Mechling, American
studies major from Miami Beach; Jackie
Manning, economics major from West Palm
Beach; and Wilma Yates, a mathematics major from Ft. Lauderdale. Mary Prichard, an
English major from DeLand, received Honorable Mention.
Thirty-eight Woodrow Wilson Fellowships
have now been awarded to Stetson students
since the University began participating in the
program several years ago. In proportion to
student enrollments, Stetson leads all other
