SID TAYLOR HEADS STETSON ALUMNI
As new president of the Stetson Alumni Association, Sidney H. Taylor, right, DeLand attorney, receives

Sidney H. Taylor, class of '35, is the
new president of the Stetson Alumni Association, succeeding James Y. Arnold,
who has served for two years.
Mr. Taylor, a DeLand attorney, told
members of the association that this is a
critical time in Stetson's history—a time
when the school can go on to become a
great university or join many other privately endowed colleges who may close
their doors for lack of funds within the
next ten years.
Mr. Arnold was highly complimented by
members of the association for his distinguished administration. He, personally,
made generous contributions to Stetson's
fund campaign and was instrumental in
making it a success in his own area of
the Palm Beaches.
President-elect of the association is Sid
ney A. Singleton, '35, Orlando insurance
broker; and the secretary-treasurer is Major Thomas J. Deen, '49, now on active
duty with the U. S. Marine Corps at Fred-
ricksburg, Va.
The nomination committee was composed
of Chairman James Nemec of West Palm
Beach; Reverend Hal Hunter of Crestview
and Earl W. Brown of DeLand. A unanimous ballot was cast for the entire slate
of officers.
