TEACHER TRAINING
PROGRAM RECOGNIZED
Stetson has been accepted for membership in lhe American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education.
The association is a national voluntary
organization of colleges and universities organized lo improve the quality of teacher
education. Other Florida members include
the University of Florida, Florida Stale Uni-
versity, the University of Miami and Florida A & M.
Dr. Ray V. Sowers, director of teacher
education, represents Stetson in the national group.

54 More Give To U S A Fund
Fifty-four persons have contributed SI.278.50 since January 1 to bring the 1957 United
Stetson Alumni campaign fund to $39,211.29 from 962 persons, according to the current
report from the office of the Director of Alumni Affairs.
Fen additional gifts have come for the Law School fund of the USA, the report shows.
These ten gifts have averaged $79 and have brought the total to $4,098.50 for this year.
In the lobby of Stetson Inn at the College of Law in St. Petersburg, a campaign board
shows the names of every graduate of the College of Law. As each graduate contributes
to lhe fund, a star is placed beside his name. The Board of Overseers has suggested thai
the board remain in this public place until there are stars beside every name.
Three of the gifts received since January 1 are $100 or more, making the donors
members of lhe Century Club. They include Paul Dickson, of the Class of 1926, and J.
Thomas Smith and J. Ollie Edmunds, both of the law class of 1928.
