Photo/Kathy Burley Despite changes, Stetson remains Stetson By Karen Kelly Marsh '68 Stetson Weekend 1998 marked the 30th reunion for the class of 1968. It was a memorable weekend by all accounts, but especially so since we were among those alums and students who first heard the Victory Bell ring at the dedication of the Hollis Center. The facility is impressive by any measure - and its physical fitness and health/wellness opportunities will benefit many, many students. How I wish it had been available to us back in the late '60s! There were more activities than it was possible to attend, but I tried! The alumni picnic and class parties on Friday evening provided a chance to do some catching up with classmates and friends. Satutday brought the picnic at the Pit on Fraternity Row, Hollis Center dedication, campus touts, All-Class Alumni Banquet, sports activities, class meetings, and perhaps the most memorable: a choral tribute to the late 'Prof Giffin, led by former student Bingham Vick, '66. As for the campus, it has had many improvements and additions Karen Kelly Marsh since we graduated ... a goutmet coffee bar in the middle of what used to be Minnesota Avenue, wonderfully upgraded dorm rooms in Chaudoin Hall (we didn't even have air conditioning back then, much less a phone jack in every room!), and a Commons that bears absolutely no resemblance to out fotmer gatheting place for meals. The ambiance of Stetson remains the same, however: the warm welcome, the staff who know and remember your name, and the feeling of being a part of a vital and ongoing academic program of excellence.
