01 ver a thousand of us
were there in assorted
shapes, sizes, and colors,
aging and ageless, folding back
the pages of time to recapture the essence of life
as "college kids." We looked good, felt good,
and generously donated $667,632.11
to the 1997 Stetson Alumni Fund.
We drove to campus in our Mercedes, our
Plymouth Caravans, and in our dented
Hondas. We arrived ready to have fun, our
spirits soaring skyward in support of one of the
most successful Stetson Reunions in the history
of our dear alma mater.
We dined in elegance amidst candles and
classmates, reminiscingof the days whenyouth
was taken for granted and wisdom but a dream
of years to come, our life at Stetson the link
forever binding us one to another.
We danced beneath a canopy of glittering
gold and mysterious blue to the music of the big
band era. We breakfasted amongst azaleas at
the President's Home with Doug and Margaret
while sharingpast accomplishments and hopes
for the future, our conversations reinforcing the
chain of commitment that connects each of us
to Stetson University.
