Concert Features The Association Big name entertainment returns for Stetson's Homecoming. Cosby started it all last year, but this year's Saturday concert features The Association - internationally acclaimed pop rock band. The performance is scheduled at 3 p.m. in Edmunds Center, according to J. B. Steelman, chairperson of Homecoming committee. "Cherish," The Association's first million-seller single, received three Grammy nominations in 1967 followed in 1968 by nominations for "Windy," "Never My Love" and the album "Insight Out." Early hit singles catapulted the qroup into fame resulting in a decade of more than 900 concerts and television appearances in the United States, England, Belgium, Germany and Holland. They've received the Record Industry Association of America's Gold Records (for sales of a million or more records) for four singles and three albums. Not only has The Association performed to rock-oriented audiences, but the band's successes also include precedent-setting rock concerts at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre and Co- coanut Grove, Cleveland's Blossom Music Center, the Boston Symphony's Tanglewood, Saratoga's Performing Arts Center and the Nebraska State Fair. Special Edition VOL. 4, NO. 3 STETSON UNIVERSITY, DELAND, FLORIDA DECEMBER 1975 HOMECOMING CONCERT - Stetson's Homecoming concert features The Association, seven-time Gold Record artists, at 3 p.m. Saturday in Edmunds Center. Among their best selling singles are: "Along Comes Mary," "No Fair at All," "Goodbye, Columbus," "Bring Yourself Home" and "Darling Be Home Soon." Steelman indicates the Homecoming committee has succeeded with this year's concert in continuing Cosby's tradition of top-notch entertainment for both alumni and students.
