Selected voices from the famous
Stetson Glee Clubs will be heard in
a broadcast over a nation-wide Mutual Broadcasting Company network
at noon, Eastern Standard Time,
Janu ry 28. In the fin->I number,
"Tattle Hymn of the Republic," the
Glee CluLs wilt be joined by the
Stetson Symphonic Band. Bill Jones
will be soloist, the baritone singing
"Largo Al Factotum" from the Barber of Seville.

Henry Stetson Due
For Founders' Day
Founders' Weekend at Stetson will
be observed February 15-18. according
to President J. Ollie Edmunds, who is
reviving the custom of an event for
friends of Stetson which was established many years ago by John B.
Stetson and which was known as
"Presentation Day."
The Founders' Day weekend begins
with the annual meeting of the Board
of Trustees and climaxes with a program at 4 p. m. Sunday, February 18,
in Elizabeth Hall.
This event will be a part of the Diamond Jubilee celebration of the City
of DeLand and several other University programs will be included in this
year-long celebration being staged by
the West Volusia-St. Johns Festival
Association.
Miss Helen DoLand, author and
daughter of the Founder of the City
of DeLand and of Stetson University,
and. G. Henry Stetson, son of John B.
Stetson and a member of the University Board of Trustees, will be
among those present.
A committee has been appointed by
President Edmunds to arrange the
Founders' Weekend program.

RELIGIOUS FOCUS WEEK
SET FOR FEB. 19-23
February 19-23 has been designated
as Religious Focus Week on the campus at Stetson. Prominent visitors to
the campus this week include William

Charlottsville, Va.; Rev. J. R. White,
Ft. Pierce; Miss Martha Linda Franks,

Ga.
Military Day Feb. 16
Stetson's first annual Military Day,
when the ROTC will stage a retreat
parade before visiting military and
civilian dignitaries, will be held
February 16.
Cage Team on New Floor
The Stetson Hi-Hatters basketball
team, opened their new Airport Arena
playing area on January 6 before an
overflow crowd of 1,600.
Program Scheduled
By Many Churches
For Stetson Sunday
The famous Stetson University Glee
Clubs, under direction of Prof. Harold!
M. Giffin, will broadcast over a nationwide Mutual Broadcasting Company
network at noon January 28.
This program of choral music will
be used in many Baptist Churches in
Florida as part of the program of the
annual observance of "Stetson Sunday."
The program will open with " A
Mighty Fortress Is Our God" and continue with "Hear My Supplication,"
"How Lovely Is Thy Dwelling Place."
"In Stiller Nacht" sung in German, the
spiritual "Ezekiel Saw de Wheel" in
twelve parts, "Largo Al Factotum,"
from "Barber of Seville" by Bill Join-:,
baritone soloist, and "The Batik
Hymn of the Republic" by the choral
group accompanied by the Stetson
Symphonic Band.
Roger L. Cushman, professor of
piano, is the accompanist for B J)
Jones and Joyce Burrell Accompanies
the club. Richard M. Feasel, director
of the band, and Lauren Mickle, engineer at the Stetson radio Station,
WJBS, assisted in technical details.
Florida stations carrying the program are: WJHP, Jacksonville:
