Tomorrow's the day! Circle K is
challenging the campus to
participate in a Keep America
Beautiful project sponsored by
the DeLand Area Chamber of
Commerce. Give a few hours of
your time tomorrow (Saturday)
morning to help pick up litter as
part of a campaign to improve a
bit of our environment.
We'll meet in front of the
Chamber of Commerce building
at 336 N. Woodland Blvd. at 8:30
a.m. If you plan to participate in

your car or truck if you have one,
wear some comfortable work
clothes, and help us clean up our

Underworld
"Evil, Sin, and Satan' will be
the topic of the program this
Sunday night at Wesley House.
We hope-to throw a little light on
this dark subject. Supper will be
at 6 p.m., and the program will
start at 6:30. Also, we'll be
holding Sunday-school at Wesley
House at 9:30 a.m. for the next
three Sundays. The topic is "The
Holy Spirit in the Christian Experience." Come by if you can.

Stetson abortions

Several pregnant Stetson women have made the decision to terminate
their pregnancies and have been referred for abortions by the
newly-opened DeLand Women's Heath and Birth Control Center,
according to the center's Director Ronni Sauls.
The center, which opened on April 1, does not have faciUties to perform
abortions.
The staff there has seen about 50 Stetson women for a variety of
services, though mostly to obtain birth control pills. With a $25 charge for
a physical check-up, a female student can recieve one month's supply of
birth control pills free. Area gynecologists charge $40 or more for a
checkup.
The center offers pregnancy testing and counselling in addition to
physical examinations, contraception distribution and abortion referral.
At an open house held at the center Wednesday night, Patte Martin,
executive director and president of the Women's Health and Birth Control
Center, which operates outlets in Daytona Beach, Orlando and DeLand,
attended the event. She was recently a featured speaker at an abortion
debate sponsored by the Stetson Political Forum.

Tofte heads list of
election winners

In Wednesday's election, 562 of
Stetson's 1,971 day students turned
out at the polls to name Jon Tofte
their next S.U.B. president, Donna
Thornal their next Reporter editor
and Todd Richardson as next
year's S.G.A. vice president.
Tofte ran away with the S.U.B.
president race, capturing 72 percent of the vote. He said yesterday,
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to
serve as S.U.B. president and I
would like to thank Jim
(Tatarczuk) for running a clean
positive campaign. I think the
prospects for are excellent for a
great S.U.B. next year."
Tatarczuk, who finished with 28
percent of the votes, wUl serve on
the Board next year. "I am really
pleased about how the campaign
went - honestly, straight-forward
and up-front," Tatarczuk said.
Apparently the amount of money
spent by the two aspirants for the
Union Board's top position was not
a ractor in the outcome. According
to reports issued by by the two
candidates yesterday, Tatarczuk
spent $115.00 while Tofte's expenses
were $82.59.
Thornal captured the Reporter
editorship by narrowly defeating
Elayne Shields, 55 to 45 percent.

because I think we can do a lot
