Two Awards Days will be held ir> assembly by the Student Gov- e.-nment Association — one on May 19th. and the other on May 26tL Sig Eps Defeat Delta Sigs to Win Quiz Bowl Sigma Phi Epsilon defeated Delta Sigma Phi 19-7 Ia=t week to take the 1961 Quiz Bowl trophy. The Sig Ep team was made up of Guy Campbell, Grant Cole, i and John Renick. Cole, a history major, led the victors in scoring. The defending champion Delta Sig team included John Adams, Ron Knapp. and Bill Sims. The Independent Men and Pi Kappa Phi were eliminated in the semifinals to tie for third. Alpha Xi Delta, Canterbury Club, Lambda Chi Alpha, and Pi Beta Phi reached the quarterfinals. The Quiz Bowl is sponsored annually by Phi Society, sophomore academic honorary. Teams compete in the single-elimination tourney over lists of 25 questions submitted by faculty members and students. Alice Maris and Michael Gillum were co-chairmen for this year s event. Faculty advisor Dr. Theodore Beiler presided at the championship match. Dave is z. ationally known singer and his record of "Aneel" and "I don't see stars in your eyes" was recently very popuiar. The record was number one in Jacksonville for quite some time.
