Fine Arts Festival Enters Second Day

Among the outstanding lovelies who were featured in the beauty
contest held at DeLeon Springs recently were: "Bunky" Blount,
Harry "Red Dog" Hurst, Jack "Cuddles" Grigsby, Dick "Two-Ton"
Melear, and Harry "The Body" Hinckley.

The combined art departments
of Stetson University have collaborated on the presentation of a Fine
Arts Festival to run from February
23 to 25. Main features of the festival are the three art lectures by
Lamar Dodd, the Stover Little
Theatre production of "Hotel Universe," and a concert by the London Siring Quartet.
An exhibition of Lamar Dodd's
work is on display in Elizabeth
Hall. At 2:30 p. m. Thursday, February 23. Mr. Dodd is giving a gallery talk and a demonstration in
oil colors. His second talk will be
given Thursday night at the University Commons Banquet which
starts at 6 p. m. At the banquet
there will also be entertainment by
the Stetson School of Music. The
banquet decorations will be done
by Miss Harvey of the art department and assisted by Kappa Pi, the
art fraternity. At 8 p. m. the Stover
f.ittle Theatre puts on its first per-

Our Campus Cutie this week is Nan Franklin, a brown-eyed
sen'or from Washington, D. C. Nan is 22 years old and has brown
hair to go with those eyes. She is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs
108. In addition to improving the looks of the campus for four
years, Nan has also been a cheerleader for three years, was secretary of the junior class ahd is now secretary of the senior class.
She is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and is engaged to
Delta Sig Jack Kirkpatrick.

Tiieie are also examples of medieval hand printing and illumina-

work which appeared in tho Florida State Fair is being displayed in
Holmes Hall.

be taken of the children's art
classes and the one in community
art as well as of all the events of

Little Theatre Performers

Fred Fischer and Joan May as they appear in the psychological
drama, "Hotel Universe," which opened for a three day run last
evenirjj at the Stover theater. This marks Fred's last main role
in a Little Theater production as he graduates soen. His performance is reported to be one of the best" in a long line of outstandng
roles. The pby will be presenLed tonight at 8 and tomorrow afternoon at 3.

Gilbert of DeLand and Mr. Gene Mancino of W. New York. N. J.
The pair were chosen from a pageant of twenty-three contestants
during HsiJtr Holiday.
