'Messiah9
The 72-voice Stetson University Concert Choir, ac'eompan-
■ ied by 27 members of the Stetson Orchestra, will give two
performances of Handel's "Messiah" in Elizabeth Hall Auditorium on December 2nd at
8 p.m. and December 4 at 3
p.m Both performances will be
under the baton of Professor
Harold M. Giffin. who will be
directing the "Messiah" presentation for the 29th time at Stetson.
STETSON TRADITION
The world famous and beautiful oratorio by Handel was first
presented at Stetson in 1905. It
became an annual presentation
of the School of Music from 1935
through 1960. It has since been
performed on an alternate year
basis.
Handel's most successful and
best known Oratorio was composed in 1741. It took him just

Red Cross -
Draws Blood -
On Monday
There will be a Red Cross
blood drawing next Monday,
December 5, beginning at 9:30
a.m in the Stetson Room of
the SUB. The drive will continue until all of those who
wish to give blood have done
so that afternoon.
Students who are under 21
are required to. have a^ form
with parents' signature giving
permission. There will be dtfc-
tors and nurses in attendance
and the waiting time should
be kept to a minimum.
Students may specify to whom
they would like the blood to
be donated or may leave that
for the Red Cross to decide.
A contest will be held among
the campus organizations to determine who gives the most
blood. Any ROTC cadet who
gives blood will be given 5
merits. The event is co-sponsored by ROTC and Delta Delta
Delta Sorority.

New Business School Opens
A new building for the Stetson University School
of Business Administration will officially begin use tomorrow Monday), according to Edward Furlong, dean
of the school.
The modern building, built at
a cost of $500,000, houses the
classrooms and faculty offices
of the School of Business which
have been using a-Navy-surplus
building since the fall of 1948.
Modern facilities and a' fresh
setting are the rule at the new
Balloting for Student Government Vice President will take
place Tuesday from 9 to 5 in
the Union Building. Connie Care-
foot has withdrawn her candidacy leaving Larry Romans,
Liberal Arts Senator, as the
one remaining candidate.
Romans is a senior and is
chairman of the Senate's Organizations and Finance Committee. He has also served on
the Stetson Union Board.
Under the Student Government Constitution, write-in candidates, are allowed in elections of this kind.
Student Government has urged students to vote Tuesday.

GIFT
Construction on the building
was begun in the fall of 1965
after the University was provided with an anonymous gift of
one-half million. dollars specified for the School of Business
Administration. Completed in
September, 1966, the building
has been awaiting finishing
touches and furniture.
Nine regular classrooms, each
seating 40 students, and a lecture auditorium which seats 130
add much needed space to the
Business School's facilities. The
building also includes a student
lounge, a faculty conference
room, a reception and information office, and 17 faculty offices.
In addition to plush offices
and spacious classrooms, the
new school has plenty of storage and work space. New lounges for the ladies in the School

Paul Morgan Wohlfarth was
born Thanksgiving evening at
8:27 p.m. to Angie and Ted'
Wohlfarth. At birth he weighed
ten pounds and was 22 inches
long. Now he and his mother-
are home well and happy.
Paul's middle name is in honor of David Moss Morgan, a
close friend of the family.

One of the most anticipated
events of the holiday season on
Stetson's" campus each year is
the annual "Yule Log Lighting"
ceremony which will be Thursday, December 8. This gloriously enjoyable event has never
failed to warm the hearts of the
many students who participate.
The first phase includes the
candle lighting which will begin at 6:30 p.m A candle is
lighted and placed in each window of each building in the
main area surrounding the Stetson Union Building. The second
phase of the Yule Log Lighting
ceremony 'consists of singing
Christmas carols led by members of the Concert Choir and
the University Chorus in front
of the music annex. The third
phase is the actual lighting of
the "Yule Log" at 7:15 p.m.
in front of the SUB. A short
program under the direction of
Jane Furlong and Dr. Carter
Colwell, will be presented and
refreshments will be served in
the student lounge of the SUB.
After the "Yule Log Lighting"
ceremony, the SUB movie committee will show "The Cardinal" at 8:30 in the Stetson Room
for no admission' (as a Christmas gift to the student body).
Women's Exec. . has approved
12 o'clock afters for all women.
The biggest social event of
the holiday season on Stetson's
campus is "The Snowball
Dance," which this year will be
held in the Stetson Room at
8:30 p.m. on December 9. Music for the occasion will be
furnished by the popular and
