THE WEDDING
ON SATURDAY
Miss Norcross Becomes
Mrs. Reichart.
DR. HULLEY CONDUCTED RITES
Auditorium was Beautifully Decorated
Many People were Present.
On Saturday evening last, Miss
Edith Norcross and Mr. Otis
Reichart were married in the university auditorium. The ceremony was performed by Dr. Hulley, assisted by Rev. J. E. Oates,
paste of the Baptist church of
DeLand. Probably few of the
people of DeLand had ever realized how very beautiful the auditorium could be made to look by
the help of the palms and other
tropical plants that are to be had
in this land of flowers. The rostrum was heavily and beautifully
decorated with bamboo, potted
plants, palm leaves and wistaria.
Shortly after eight o'clock the
bridal procession entered the auditorium from the rear. First
came the two ushers, Messrs.
Stanley Woodward and Stanley
Moffatt; then came Miss Lillian
Monday and Miss Preston, attendants of the bride, one handsomely gowned in blue and one in pale
pink. Closely following Miss
Preston came the three dainty
little flower girls, Misses Mary
Hulley, Gladys Moffatt and Catherine Haynes.
Miss. Norcross entered tbe auditorium on the arm of Prof. G.
Prentiss Carson, whose duty it
was to give away the bride. Her
gown was a beautiful creation of
rare India cloth. They were met
at the foot of the rostrum by the
groom and his best man, Prof. E.
G. Baldwin.
As the procession moved up
the aisle the charming little flow
er girls sang a verse of the Wedding Hymn in their sweet, childish voices.
Prof. Morse was at the organ
and charmed the friends of the
bride and groom, who were present, by his delightful reudition
of the following selections. :
"Laus Deo," from Dubois Marriage Mass.
"Nuptial Song," by Dubois.
"Introduction to Bridal Chorus
from Lohengrin," by Wagner.
Mendelssohn's "Wedding
March."
During the ceremony he played
a soft and appropriate improvisation.
After the ceremony a very delightful reception was held at the
home of the bride and the many
friends of Mr. and Mrs. Reichait
were given an opportunity to wish
them every happiness in their
married life.
Mrs. Reichart has many true
friends among the faculty and the
student body of the university
and The Collegiate wishes to extend very hearty wishes for a
happy life to these two whose
marriage has been so essentially
connected with Stetson.

The U. of F. Boys Played a Clean

After the yearly elections had
taken place the remaining time
was spent in the discussion of
"Character Building," led by
Miss Cramer. Miss Webster gave
to the members a selection taken
from Oliver Wendell Holmes,
whose closing verse
"Build thou more stately mansions
Oh, my soul,
As the swift seasons roll,"
expressed his view of "Character
Building."
The hour was both profitable
and pleasant.
Messrs. Wilder, Walter Carlton and
Durrance indulged in a camping- trip
down on tbe river last week. Game
is said to be very plentiful, the boys
having made several successful shots
nto browsing herds of mosquitos.

Last Thursday at 2 :15 the University team left DeLand to xday
two inter-collegiate games of baseball with the University of Florida, located at Lake City, going
via Palatka on the Atlantic Coast
line and Georgia Southern and
Florida railroads.
We arrived in Lake City at 9
o'clock and were given pleasant
quarters in the Blanche Hotel.
We were shown every courtesy
by the U. of F. boys, who gave us
an informal dance in the excellent
Flagler gymnasium out at the
university on Friday evening,
and a very pleasant evening was
passed.
On Saturday morning some of
the Stetson boys went out to the
range and watched the U. of F.
boys at target practice, a feature
we have not at Stetson. Some
good scores were made, in one instance two bullseyes in succession
at a distance of 300 yards.
FIRST GAME.
The first game was called on
Thompson's field Friday at 3:20
with Pelot in the box for Stetson
and Carter for U. of F.
First Inning.—U. of F. chose
the outs. Campbell came to bat
first for Stetson and hit a pretty
single by third. E. Mickle followed with another. Pelot hit
out another. W. Mickle drew
base on balls, Kirby also reached
first. Sams was out on a fly.
