MASS MEETING
SUCCESSFUL
College Spirit Crystalizes
Into Cash.
There have been complaints
made of the College spirit this
year, but only the rankest cynic
could complain of the spirit shown
at the students' mass meeting
last Wednesday. The meeting
was called by the Athletic authorities to place before the students
the fact that last year's accounts
show a deficit which would be increased before the end of this
football season. The students
were asked to subscribe $200 to
meet this situation. They responded with a subscription that
now totals over .$890.
Mr. Hamlin, president of the
Athletic Association, Professor
Baldwin, Captain Botts and
others addressed the meeting and
aroused considerable enthusiasm
by recounting some ofStetson's
athletic achievements, and making appeals for the future. At
this point, "Uncle Dan" Blocker
started the ball rolling by saying
"Mr. Chairman, I' must be excused, but put me down for $10."
Two fraternities, the Delta
Gamma Delta and Phi Kappa

the services they rendered to the
