STETSON Hymn—Jerusalem, My Happy Home Benediction—Rev, R L. Honiker. Postlude—Dead March from Saul. A VERY IMPRESSIVE CEREMONY Under Auspices of the University and a Committee of Citizens. Last Wednesday" at X o'clock the hour at which Mi'- Stetson's funeral took place at the Ash bourne home, appropriate ser vices were held in the University auditorium. The service was under the auspices of the University and the Citizens1 Committee on Resolutions. The rostrum was beautifully decorated with ilowers and va rious plants, and a large, draped picture of Mr. Stetson was hung in the center. The entrance to the auditorium was also heavily!? draped. A very large crowd assembled to tints pay the last sad tokens of respect to him who has been our greatest human friend and benefactor. Every one was impressed with the sadness and sorrow of the occasion. The program, which was well prepared and carried out, follows : Organ Prelude — Funeral March, Chopin—Prof. O. A. Morse. By University Faculty. Resolutions on the death of Mr: .John B. Stetson, adopted by the faculty of John B. Stetson University : Whereas, God, in His wisdom, hath taken from earth to heaven our benefactor and friend, John B. Stetson. Resolved, 1st, That while we bow in humble submission to the will of the Creator, we are conscious of an inestimable loss to the University and to all mankind, for whose benefit and uplifting he devoted his life. Resolved, 2d, That each member of the faculty feels that he has sustained in Mr. Stetson's death a great personal loss. Resolved, 8d, That we cherish his memory as one of our most sacred heritages We feel grateful for having known him, and esteem it as one of our highest privileges to have been associated with him in the work of Christian education. Resolved, 4th, That we extend our heartfelt sympathy to Mrs. John B. Stetson, his estimable wife, and the other members of the bereaved family in this hour of their deep distress, and pray that He who doeth all things well may be their comforter at this time. Resolved, oth, That a copy of these resolutions be sent to Mrs. Stetson, and that they be published in The News, the Record and the Suppliment. C. S. FAKRis, J. Archy Smith, G. Prentice Carson, A. J. Farrah, A. R. Bauder, Committee. Dr. Hulley. who accompanied Mrs. Stetson to her Ashbourne home and attended Mr. Stetson's funeral, is expected to return today. FINE READING IS FURNISHED ONE DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARY. The Wealth of Literature ^Contained in the Bound Magazines. A recent number of The Collegiate contained an editorial concerning the use of the library which was well worth the consideration of every student in the University. Probably no one is ignorant of the fact that we possess the finest library in the State, but that it is, in some respects, one of the finest in the South, is not so generally realized. The superior, or even the equal, of our collection of bound magazine literature is seldom found in libraries of twice the size of ours, north or south. As all of the foremost writers of modern times have made their entrance into the literary world through this medium, and as the Sampson library contains in its reference department complete files of the best American and a few foreign publications, some of which are out of print, this department alone is an invaluable library. Through the use.of indices the seeker for entertainment or the student desiring aid in his research work finds at his command a bibliography of immeasurable value. At the opening of the present term the library received from the binder the volumes for f908-4 and the first half of '05.
