John B. Stetson acquires a portion of Section 7, Township 17 South, Range 30 East (USGS) in DeLand. The previous property owner, Hannah A. Patterson, passed away without a specified or available executor. J.D. Kurtz, the court-appointed will administrator, applied with the County to sell Patterson property. The County Judge approved the sale, and appointed Thomas J. Law as the Patterson estate commissioner. Law passed away before completing the sale. Grant Bly was then appointed as the Patterson estate commissioner. Bly conducted the auction at which John B. Stetson purchased the property.
