Lloyd Linney is an active performer and teacher. Her
operatic roles include Donna Anna in Don Giovanniy Queen of
the Night in The Magic Flute, Fiordiligi in Cost fan tutte,
Rosalinda in Die Ftedermaus, both the Countess and Susanna in
The Marriage of Figaro* Blonde in The Abduction from the
Seraglio, Naide in Ariadne aufNaxos, Madame Goldentrill in
The Impressario, Marie in The Bartered Bride, and the tide role
in Martha. She has appeared as soprano soloist in such works as
Mozart's Requiem, Handel's Messiah and Jephtha, Beethoven's
Christ on the Mount of Olives and Mass in C, Puccini's Gloria
and Bach's Passion According to St. John. In 1993 she premiered
a work composed by Dr. Janis Kindred for soprano solo and
children's choir for the Southern Division Music Educators
National Conference and the Georgia Music Educators Association.
Dr. Linney has been a member of the faculty of the
School of Music since 1984, teaching voice, music theory
courses and serves as vocal coach for the Stetson Children's
Choir. She also taught at the University of Central Florida,
Daytona Beach Community College, Valencia Community
College and Rollins College. She received the Bachelor of Arts
degree from Furman University and the Master of Music and
Doctor of Music degrees from Florida State University.
