KRISTIE BORN
Pianist Kristie Born has performed a wide range of solo, chamber, and
large ensemble music. She made her solo debut at age 16 with the
Hollywood Philharmonic, and she has concertized in Japan, Russia,
Germany, and Italy. Dr. Born received two degrees in piano
performance from the Peabody Conservatory and holds a doctorate in
accompanying from the University of Miami. Since 2005, Kristie Born
has been on the faculty of the Stetson School of Music, where she
teaches accompanying and class piano, coordinates Accompanying and
Functional Keyboard, coaches opera, and collaborates with faculty, guest
artists, and students in recitals.
ROSE SHLYAM GRACE
Rose Shlyam Grace, a Russian-born pianist, has concertized throughout
the United States as a soloist and chamber music recitalist. In recent
years, Dr. Grace has been a featured artist at several music conferences,
including the National MTNA Conference in NYC, the National Flute
Convention and the FSMTA Conferences. Since 2009, Dr. Grace has
been teaching as an Assistant Professor of Piano at Bethune-Cookman
University, and in 2012, joined Daytona State College as Adjunct
Professor. She holds a DMA from the Eastman School of Music, an MA
in Musicology from the University of Chicago, and a BM from the
Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
ZACK BROWNING
Zack Browning is a composer whose music has been described as "way-
cool in attitude...speed-demon music" (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
and "propulsive, giddy, rocking... a rush of cyclic riffs and fractured
meters" (The New York Times). The Irish Times proclaimed he is "bringing
together the procedures of high musical art with the taste of popular
culture." His solo CD "Banjaxed" has been called "dramatic, exciting,
rhythmic, high-energy music". Browning's recent CDs "Secret Pulse"
and "Venus Notorious" are available on Innova Recordings. Browning is
an Associate Professor Emeritus at the University of Illinois and director
of the Salvatore Martirano Memorial Composition Award.
