Tall wooden floor board with the writing, 'John B Stetson University C/O J.C. Clake Deland, Florida'. J. (John) T. Clake, a DeLand carpenter, contractor, and builder directed the construction of Stetson Hall, Elizabeth Hall, many homes throughout DeLand and was later hired by John B. Stetson to make additional improvements to the College Arms Hotel. He originally contracted to build Sampson Library, but was forced by illness to give up the project shortly before he died. Clake served as a trustee of the university from 1897 to 1908. Brown wood with black writing.
