Synthesis
"Synthesis" is an original piece that draws upon my work in the Digital
Arts program at Stetson. Most of the sound in the piece either samples
from one of my projects or makes use of a sound source that was used in
one of my projects. Elements of improvisation are used in the piece to
manipulate the sounds, control the range of the sounds, and provide an
overall form to the piece. The form of this piece is not expressed via a
beginning, middle, and end; instead, the sound unfolds through a steady
progression. The ambient character of "Synthesis" reflects the tone of
most of my compositional works here at Stetson and serves as a vehicle for
reflective meditation.
