pendergartontaylor is an example of what musical collaboration can look like in the twenty-first
century. These three gentlemen all spend part of their time as composers, performers and
programmers. They can speak to you about software and computers and how these universal
machines can empower artists with amazing possibilities. They can speak to you about
aesthetics and creative pursuits and how they contextualize themselves in the ongoing history of
electronic music. Tonight, they will speak to you with music. Using their instruments, they will
improvise and create original music for this audience in this hall. They will be thinking out loud,
drawing on their collective experience to convey emotions and knowledge and wisdom to you.
The challenge is to look beyond the tools and listen to what they are saying.
