Beth Maycumber (Stetson University Archivist) opens a volume of Description de l'Egypte during an Archives tour for Museum Studies students, August 30, 2024. This full first-edition set of the Description de l'Egypte books (published 1809-1822) were gifted to Bert Fish while he served as Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Egypt. Fish held this post from 1933 until 1939, when he took on a post in Saudi Arabia.
