Library Directory Betty Johnson and Jim Cox, class of 1950, donor of the sculpture titled Evangeline. The marble bust, by sculptor William Couper, is dated 1878. It was originally presented circa 1908 to President and Mrs. Lincoln Hulley by Elizabeth, Countess of Santa Eulalia (widow of John B. Stetson). Mrs. Hulley willed the bust to Mary Tribble Lowry, who was an English teacher and Dean of Women. Mrs. Lowry, in turn, left the bust to her niece Mary Elizabeth Tribble Cox, late wife of Jim Cox.
