Stetson Family Collection. Photo of John B. Stetson, Jr. in the courtyard of the Fukkier wine cellar in Warsaw, Poland for the Celebration of the U.S. Sesquicentennial. The courtyard is decorated with an American flag and two portraits of Tadeusz Kosciuszko, a national hero to both Poland and the United States, who fought alongside the Americans during the American Revolutionary War. Also pictured: Ignacy Moscicki, President of the Republic of Poland (1926-1939); Peggy Hawks; Leopold Kotnowski; and Colonel Richard McKenney, Military Attache to the U.S. in Warsaw, Poland. John B. Stetson, Jr. served as U.S. Minister to Poland from 1925 to 1929. Mounted with photographer Karol Peckerski embossed stamp. Caption on back of photo, 'Famous occasion when the Ame. Minister partook of Tokay wine 150 years old to celebrate 150 anniversary of U.S. at Fukier's.' John B. Stetson, Jr. served as U.S. Ambassador to Poland 1925 to 1929.
