Description
Undated black collapsible Opera (top hat-style) Stetson hat with black fabric hat band. Opera hats were popular in the second half of the nineteenth century through the 1910s, and were designed to collapse in order to be stored flat underneath theater seats. Donated by Brooke Rankin, great-granddaughter of Stetson Hat Company founder John B. Stetson.
