Description
C.1930 black collapsible Opera (top hat-style) Stetson hat with black fabric hat band. Opera hats were were designed to collapse in order to be stored flat underneath theater seats, and according to a 1930 edition of the company newsletter The Hat Box, Stetson began producing opera hats in a new silk hat division sometime around then. Donated by Brooke Rankin, great-granddaughter of Stetson Hat Company founder John B. Stetson.
